How much gas should fill my clear, in line, filter? I thought that it should fill up, while mine only gets the bottom filled. I have been doing a lot of fuel work. I put in a new tank because the other one was filed sky high with crap. I put in a new pump. Unless something got into the lines, wich I didn't think anything did. Then I might still not be getting the fiuel I need.

What's a good way to tell if I'm getting enough fuel?

If your engine is running well, you're getting enough fuel.

I've got a clear in-line filter on my 289, and like you describe - it never fills. This is normal.

Just remember that a fuel pump (that's working correctly) can fill the carb bowl(s) very quickly. Once full - the floats are shutting off the fuel supply so your filter can go "dry" until the fuel bowl level decreases slightly - then one "shot" of fuel from the pump will fill it almost immediately...
