Anybody ever heard their fuel pump sound like its rattly I'll call it and still working fine? It appears it was replaced recently as it still looks new if any indication. I did the thumb over a solid object trick until I came up with the noise. I was concerned it sounded like a front bearing but it was definately not from the pan! Pump will suffice until I can't take it any more. Louder sometimes more than others!

Could be an incorrect fuel pump eccentric. I'd never used the fuel pump eccentric on my old 302 because I've always run an electric pump since I built my car. When we pulled my engine/tranny/exhaust and dropped it into my son's '65, the fuel pump at the eccentric was make a ton of noise. I couldn't stand it and took the easy way out ... installed an electric pump in his car *LOL*. I don't think we have the right eccentric on that car, but with the electric pump ... who cares *LOL*.
