Has anyone used an aftermarket electric fuel pump with an
4-v Autolite carb, say from a 65 Mustang? Do I need to use a pressure regulator. Are these carbs even suitable for electric fuel pumps? Thanks,CDC

Some electric fuel pumps require a regulator and some don't.
I have a 351 Cleveland in my '65 coup, and with the headers I
run you can't have a mechanical pump. I run a Holley RED pump,
the last one I had lasted eight years! All the new cars have them.
The Holley Red runs with out a regulator. I also like the fact that
you can hook up a hidden switch to the pump to use as a theft
deterrent.
