Fuel squirting out of the carb. - I took it down the street and back and it stopped. This only happeded one time and I am thinking the float was stuck. Maybe it had something to do with the cap coming off the air intake tube in front (?) It hasn't happened again and the engine is quieter since I popped that cap back on. We just rebuilt the carb. about 5 months ago. Should I be worried?

If it's no longer happening, about all you can do it watch it closely.
Do watch it though. We don't want any excitement.

reminds me of a '63 Chevy I had in college. was heading back to the dorm and suddenly smelled gas.

stopped to check it out and the gasket on the fuel pump body was shot. spraying fuel everywhere. easy fix but could have been bad if I did not notice it.

Keep an eye on it. if it does not happen again. cool.

It could be as simple as a float sticking.
