I was getting the 66 ready for a car show and was doing minor cleaning in the engine compartment. When I removed the air cleaner I noticed what appears to be fuel varnishing around the carb, not really wet but a little sticky. It wiped right off with a clean rag. There is no visible wet leakage around the gaskets or anywhere else that I can see.

Is this a normal thing on these cars?

All the gaskets are fairly new as we rebuilt it about a year or so ago.
