alright. im replacing my stock gauges(most of them dont work) with some VDO millennium gauges. it came with the car so why not put them in.

the new gas gauge comes with a new sending unit, but id like to avoid having to cut into my tank.

the stock gas gauge and sender work fine. so i just replaced it with the new gas gauge. i connected the ground, power, and sender wires to the right areas. but when i turn on the car. it reads empty when i know that i have close to a full tank

does the new gauge work reverse or backwards, resulting in an opposite reading?

thanks!

you were given a new sending unit to match the gauge. If that gauge is not setup specifically for a stock ford 73-10ohm sending unit it will not work and you run the risk of breaking it if you hook it up to the wrong sender. First thing you need to do is see what the gauge is calibrated for and go from there. If it is a different resistance range you will have to use the supplied sender. If it is the same you either have a bad part or hooked it up incorrectly.
