5 speed, 4.11s, 10.13 in the quarter mile.
Oh wait, that was a Sammy Haggar song...
My 1966 Mustang Coupe, stone-stock 289-2V, C-4, 2.80 axle and single exhaust averaged 14mpg when I got it. Adding a set of dual exhaust glasspaks instantly raised it to 17mpg. This same car, at 70mph, with the AC on and two people in the car, would get 20-21mpg on the highway.
Slightly warmed over '66 289 +0.030 Coupe, std C4, stock single exhaust, 3.25:1 rear (posi). About 16mpg all-around driving (commuting to/from work, 20 mile each way, most of that on freeway).
Much better than SWMBO's '96 454 Suburban - 12 mpg highway!!
I fully expect a dyno tune to help, since I've never figured out how to tune the secondaries properly on my Edelbrock 1406 carb (I can see small amounts of smoke when I stomp on it). Am also glad to know dual exhausts help the mpg. Decided not to switch to AOD tranny.

65 fb, 289, Performer, Holley, Tri-ys, Turbos, C-4, 2.80 gears = 18 mpg doing a 35%city/65%higway drive.....52 miles round trip. I will let you know my highway mileage when I get back from North Myrtle Beach in June...
