I have a 95 / 5 litre mustang and when I corner I can smell gas
I replaced the gas vap and checked the fuel gas tank neck and it appears ok.
Any ideas?

Check the plastic fuel lines under the hood on the passenger side that go from the firewall to the engine. I've read that they can start to break down with age and start leaking internally and if they break they can cause a fire.

Wiggle them around while the engine's running (or maybe just the key on so it's pressurized) and see if you smell gas. If you do you should replace those right away.
