I bought a second hand Holley 850 DP to try on the 'Stang. Last night I started to disassemble it for a new kit. The carb had been left sit for a long time with gas in the secondary bowl and the metering plate is stuck to the main body, and I mean stuck! I let it soak overnight in my parts cleaner with no effect. Anyone have any secret solutions to getting these apart without destroying them? I will try just about anything, I am heading to the track this weekend and really wanted to try it out. Thanks.

Try heat, might do it. Heat the metering block, not to hot though, and the expantion of the metal might break it free. Just a thought

The Last one I had like that a 750 dp I ended up driving razor blades in to the gaskets (dont cut the little alignment dowl off the metering block) that combined with some wd-40 and I got them apart.Hope this helps Robert

Soak in WD-40. A gallon bucket of Berryman's carb dip may work too, but WD-40 would be my first choice.
