I've got a copy of the latest Shelby American World Registry, as do other VMFers. Post the Shelby VIN and we can tell you about the car.

I don't know what some others thinks, but I'd say 20K is a bit much from the description of the car. Where is it located? I've seen a few complete and prob. #2 to 3 cars here in the North east selling w/asking prices (these are '68 GT350's...) of about $18.5-20K.

#1252 is a hertz car, shipped to S&C Motors in San Francisco. I also think 20k is alittle high for one in that shape. But on the other hand some of these prices I see on ebay leave me shaking my head.

What poppashelby gave you is about all there is in the registry for info on the car--doesn't even mention color and options. I think what you offered is a good price and you may even consider going up a notch if he counter offers.

Unfortunatlely checking with SAAC will not confirm much but will elminate some porrly done fakes.

Checked out a few Shelbys that had been rebodied that had letters from SAAC confirming them. They do word the letters carefully so that they really comfirm nothing more than "that Ford VIN is one of the VIN's used to build a Shelby" Doesn't mean that the VIN is from the car its on now :(

Like others I believe that the asking price and offer are high for the car in question. Based on yoru description you will be into this car around $30-35,000. TOO much for one of the less popular Shelbys. $20K sounds more like a price from the late 80's when the market was over stimulated

8T02J155431-01252 is a "unknown" car according to the registry meaning that no pervious owners have contacted SAAC and provided information. Hopefully its still somewhere in CA and rust free.
