I have a nice 68 base that has a crack in it..What is a good glue that will repair it?..I have tried some two part Permatex plastic bonder but it doesn't seem to be very strong.

Have a 68 console that looked like it had been a seat for a 3 year old. It was a series of small cracks, the total, definitely weakening the piece. . On the backside, rough sanded it complete and "laminated" it with fiberglass cloth and resin. It's ugly as hell but strong and not seen. Cloth adds strength and the small cracks are not visible after refinishing it. It waa originally avocado green, and now black.

I agree, fiberglass on the back side.
