Hello all.
I am getting ready to spray the 1st coat of primer on my car. I am going to go with a PPG epoxy primer. I have a nice 6hp air compressor.

What gun should I get? I have never sprayed before. Don't want junk, but don't want to break the bank either.

Any recommendations? Ones to avoid, etc?

Thanks.

I've got a couple of decent guns.....but in all honesty I don't believe you need to get very carried away for a "primer" gun...

Harbor Freight sells an HVLP gun for around $70.00 or so and Wesco Autobody sells the same one for a little more. It has a 1 qt gravity can/cup on top, and the gun itself is red or blue in color (Sorry, don't know the brand -Taiwan).

I have the same gun I bought at a swap meet and it worked great for the DP I sprayed last week. As a matter of fact, it will probably do a pretty good job for BC/CC with a different tip. It's very easy to use, once you figure out how it works and how to adjust everything ;)
