Kind of funny how a low budget project starts out small and slowly grows out of control..

Building a budget 351w and I was orginally going to port my heads, re-ring the engine and slap on a new intake. Well as you can see from the pictures things have progressed.

By the time I started adding up the valve job, springs, keepers, studs, rockers, guide plates (oh and new valve, because mine where bad) I started to think aluminium were not all the much more. I saw these 215cc Pro Topline (protopline.com) SBF Cyclone heads on sale and couldn't pass up a set of heads that out flowed AFR 205's (pretty close) for under $1100 shipped.

Headers.. well i found a set of Hooker Comps (p/n 6901) new on ebay, but they were painted and I remember I didn't like how the heat would radiant through the floor boards. Jet-hot sells the same header for $20 more that Summit, but with their Jet-Hot coating.

Anyway I thought I would share my good new.
Oh and I won a set of SpeedPro H336-.030 over on ebay last night which came ready to install with the stronger football rods (bolts)

It is a good day.

Looks great! But in the first pic, it doesn't look like the spark plug holes is tapped! Hope I'm wrong...

Thanks guys.

Questions/Answers:
-Yes, the spark plug holes are tapped.
-No, I did not get the heads from summit. I called proline in MI. The future of the company is not certain right now, but that didn't bother me. The price was less that Summit.

I will be sure to post some pictures once the engine is assebled. Getting new toys sure make that warm fuzzy feeling come out. ;)

here is the flow data.
