will a 78 granada rear end fit a 66 mustang? if so, is it a plug n play swap or are mods necessary? thanx............

It looks to be about 3/8" wider on each side making 3/4"overall wider than a 1965. The spring pads measure the same. I am not sure about the front yoke for the driveshaft as I have a 6 cyl. but am planning to install the 302, trans and rear at the same time. It is currently in a good running '77 Granada with a trash body.

The axle tube are a little larger in diameter which will necessitate elongating the through holes on your shock plates. A different rear u-jt will be needed in some cases.

Also expect really cruddy gear ratios like 2.70:1 or worse. I think the center hub is larger in diameter than the center hole of a stock '65 Mustang rim - not a problem if you go aftermarket.
