Hanging hood on the wall

I am trying to make some room in my garage, and will have my hood off the car for a while. I would like to hang it on the wall to make some space. How have others hung their hood on the wall?

One utility hook through the secondary hood latch did it fine.

It will look nice.
Find the stud center, drill a 1/8" pilot hole and then screw in a hanger like this. Bend it as you need to so the hood can hang from the secondary latch bar, or run a piece of aircraft cable through it like I did. Hood's not that heavy. Should be good to go.

How did you hang the wheels/tires?
My spare pristine hood is up in my loft next to my Ford tooling fender I bought at least 12 years ago . . I thought about hanging them as wall art on hooks , but better protected out of sight.
My hood storage area is in the living room. Not joking 😜

I too have a bunch of spare parts in the living room. I have a Great wife for sure.
I finally had enough sold my spare hood in the spring.
Was tired of stepping over for 35 years.
Could not hang it because too close to my cars.

The $300 went to a good cause

Reminds me of: What would you do if you won the lottery? "I'd spend most of it on booze and women, and whatever was left I would spend on something frivolous".

That’s either a little car or a big bathroom 😜

If I had your stuff I would protect it too lol.
My hood is wall art only. Picked up from a guy that had it on ad. Left over from his FB reno. Turned out the car was one i rode in 35+ years prior when I had my convert. He recently bought so didn't knowvthe history. I shared a pic i took of it back in early 80s.
At some future point i would like to add tops of both fenders, headlamp trim and an old cowl + trim i have. Mount to subframe to maintain all angles and gaps and hang from wall or mount to ceiling. That would look cool.

I bent up some threaded rod, bolted to a 2x4. Screwed 2x4 to roof beam and simply hung the wheel from it.
Took it all down a year back to complete the interior reno of my garage. Space is going to be used for something else now, so not sure where I will hang.

Bent a couple of 3/16" round rod hooks and went through the hood hinge attachment holes. I have two hoods on either side of my building hung this way

Thank you. That is cheaper than the wall-mount tire racks for sure.
Awesome thanks for the replies. I like the utility hook idea using the aircraft cable. Iatoracing, your garage looks pretty spacious, I’m jealous

I used the same concept for seasonal tires for my sons Focus.
I stood a full length 2x4 straight up, installed the threaded rod "hooks" and hung the 4 tires. Nice and clean. Took up minimal floor space.
Sorry I didn't take a pic showing what I did before I took it down for some reno work

Since both of these or off project cars I just used some pieces of drive ( sheetmetal ductwork connectors) . Made some crude shallow "s" shaped things hooked them behind the latch assembley brace on the hood then on the bottom lip on the "c" channel.

The hoods are so light they are not going to fall .
