Eastwoods, Corroless red primer would be better..
spray cans or brush on...good stuff for your application,
not cheap, i put it on my 50 f1 pickup frame abt 5 yrs ago, still holding up well...there are other brands also, color is similar to Fords original red primer , but they used laquer primer this is more of an enamel type primer for rust
