Have to take out windshield to get cowl off?????

495 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  paulwall
I'm in the process of repairing the cowl on the Mach, and well, I'm stuck.....I have all the spot welds out on the front, and the two sides, but I can't figure out how to get the part that goes up against the windshield off.....there aren't any spotwelds I can see, and it bends down, and under the windshield. If I have to get the windshield out, is this a difficult task, and how would I go about this? TIA.

On my 66 I took the windshield out and found lots of spot welds that are hidden by the WS. It wasn't that bad of a job, just took alot of time and a ton of patience!!
Good luck
On a '66 you need to remove the moulding and cut the rubber seal along side of the glass. Take your time and use a sharp box cutter.
Thanks for the replies guys. I guess tomorrow I'll be taking the Mach's windshield out. /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif Wish me luck!
remember that your car uses a glue-in windshield, and a seal cutter will be required to cut it out (piano wire between two dowels) get some help so you don't crack it!
