I am getting ready to put in my order of parts. I want to use a heavy duty oil pump drive from Ford Motorsports. They have two types for 5.0L engines. One for 87-95 5.0L and one for 289/302 engines. There is a note for the 289/302 style that it will not fit EEC-IV equiped engines.
I have a 86 HO motor that I am putting in my 67 Fastback with a carb and an 85 Duraspark dizzy. Does anyone know the difference between the two oil pump drives? I think I need the 289/302 piece. I did not get a chance to call FMS, and want to get my order in.

Thanks,
Glenn

One of them (I forget which) has a longer area that fits into the distributor. It is a good investment over the stock drive which is just a piece of hex stock. It will twist like a piece of licorice over time.

The HD drive will snap contrary to rumor if something jams the oil pump. LIke a piece of timing gear. Ask me how I know.
