Hi, I know this is a newbie quesiton, but oh well, I'm a newbie. My question is this: I have a 66 289 with dual exhaust and I was wondering a couple things. First of all, my car is allready somewhat loud with the two chamber flowmasters installed, and its right at the edge of being too loud, but right now its just right. Anyways, I was wonderign if I put headers on my car, would they make it sound LOUDER? or how would it change the sound of my car? My second quesiton is how much would it cost to have them proffesionally installed? thank you very much for you answers. See you on the road!

The cost of having them installed will be somewhere around $200. You can call your local muffler shops and tell them what you want done. They should be able to give you a price over the phone.
I installed tri-y's in mine... I drove it to the muffler shop, then had the shop cut the exhaust pipe - we pushed it back out into the parking lot where I installed my headers. It took me about an hour and the only trouble I had was needing to borrow a jack to lift the engine a couple of inches for the drivers side clearance.
We pushed it back in and they welded up the collectors. All done for about $50 labor.

You're just jealous because the voices only talk to me!!!
