Slightly more HP (very slightly IMHO)
Advantages of Shorties:
No loss of ground clearance
No need to use "lowering bracket" for PS cars
Improved starter life
Easier access to Starter
I have full length headers on my '69 and JBA shorties on my '66. Overall I like the shorties better.
