I have a small block hi-po 289 toploader ( HEH-T) that I will be selling soon and it has 2 of the 4 front mounting tabs broken off. Can this be fixed by wielding some pieces off another toploader? Thanks for any help.

I cut the ears off an old 3 speed truck transmission, fitted and had welded on a toploader.

(side note)=never try to pull the transmission into the bellhousing that last 1/2" with the bolts.

This repair can be done, I have seen it done before and it didn't appear to be that difficult. As MadMan said, a competent machine shop can do this. You need an extra bellhousing to bolt it to while making the repair. I don't think you really need two tabs from another tranny, I would think the shop could easily manufacture them from a piece of stock.

I have one with one welded ear. I wouldn't buy one though, not with one or two welded ears, this one is a loaner from a friend as my box is loaned by another friend...
