I have a 1966 mustang coupe. We have completely new suspension from mustangdepot.com, and 11.75" drilled and slotted rotors with 4 piston calipers, in the front, form wilwood brake systems. The issue is that we cannot find a 17" wheel to fit the damn thing. We are unsure of the backspacing, what kind of spacers we need, and the proper wheel width. We've tried my brother's 17x9 wheels off of his '04 cobra, and 17x8 wheels from an '05 mustang gt. Both rubbed the upper control arm, and the lower tie rod. I was told to buy 17x7 in the front with 4.75" backspacing, and put 17x8 in the back. Any help? Tips? Similar problems? Please, any info/links would be greatly appreciated.
