Hey folks,

Just bought a 67 Coupe 289 v8. My question is will a late model mustang rim fit on it. prop 16 inch, I know it's the right lug pattern. Any advice would be appretiated. This questions has probably been asked many times.

Thanks

The problem with the late model rims is the backspacing issue. Here is a chart provided by the famous VMF'er Ken /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif fd

You can do it, but you'll need spacers due to the differences in backspacing.

On my 70, I found I needed 1" spacers all around to do the trick with 17" '01 Mustang GT wheels. I got mine from www.wheeladapter.com. The ONLY kind of spacer you would want to use is the kind that bolt to the car, and carry their own set of lugs to bolt your wheel to.

I love the way it looks.... I really need to get my pics up soon, sorry I don't have any right now.

Take a look at Jay's fitment page: http://www.classic-mustang.net/jay/shelby/wheels.html

I would not use any wheels on my car that required spacers unless the spacers were the type that bolt to the hub and have their own studs to attach the wheel to. Otherwise they introduce to much of a risk of failure in my opinion.
