Hi all,

I gotmy new 351w and rebuilt c4 ready. I installed both accidentally without puttingthe headers on first. Lifted the engine up and jacked the car a bit and there is no way that these headers (D623) are even remotely going to fit. I spent hours trying.I sincerely don’t see how they can fit with a 351w in my engine bay unless I cut my shock towers which I’m just not going to do. Can anyone advise?

part number :Doug's Headers D623 1 3/4

I didn't think yours was a MII swap.

Yep, those headers are for a shock-tower-delete IFS installation. As the '67-70 engine compartments are the same you should be able to use a '69 351W header (since the '69 came with said engine) but if you have a manual transmission using the factory equalizer ("Z") bar you may need to swap it for a '69 351W version.

Weird that Doug's does not seem to make a set of traditional long tube headers for our application. it's Tri-Y's or those for the MII conversion.

Hedman Elite are good long tube headers. Tubes are 1 5/8" vs 1 3/4", but that should be fine for a small block.
