I agree, usually the machine shop is your best and most painless way to go.
Just be careful though as I once took an I-6 manifold in to have it milled and got it back with a mounting ear broke off,and of course "It musta' been like that when you brought it in sir."
Yeah I always take in useless parts to be machined.
