I've got a SunPro Mini Super Tach II, and the needle is very erratic. It's the basic hook up, power, ground and negative side of the coil. I even tried power and ground straight off the battery... The interesting thing is it calms down after the car is warmed up and opperates pretty much normal..

I'm running a Mallory Unilite and Promaster coil.

Thanks

I had a Sunpro tach in my mustang when I bought it. Not very good but it let you know about how fast you were revving. It would always overshoot and come back if that's what you mean. Otherwise, try using a shielded wire and checking your ground. Check your ground first and check it at every connection the ignition and tach need to reach the battery: i.e. - engine ground strap.
