No, steel wheels cost the same or more than most mag wheels. It doesn't matter because they are not available in 18x9.5 with a 6.25" backspace that I need so I can buy a competitive tire in my class.

Here's the closest match thats not even close to the proper backspace. And no they will not do custom.

Are you allowed to run a race tire like Hoosiers, or large street compound tires?

200 treadwear dot tire the I can afford. I know my way around this subject. I think old looking "rusty" steelies would look awesome and fit the car perfectly but it aint going to happen.

Nice, but I’m pretty sure those don’t fall within the $400 per wheel budget. Its just a race car.
