Hey guys I’m hoping I can get some input on buying a set of stainless steel long tube headers for my 1967 Mustang with a 289 engine and manual transmission.

The car had a set of Long tube headers on it when I purchased it but I do not know the brand. They Are extremely rusty, but fit well, do not leak, and do not rub anywhere.

I’m going to pull the engine and paint it and I thought I would add some nice looking stainless headers if I can find a direct bolt in set.

Can someone recommend an affordable set that actually fit?

JBA 1650S is what I have on my car and they fit great.

If you want long tubes, consider Hedman Elite. Ceramic coating is nice to keep under hood temps down and helps them look good longer. They do make them in stainless, but price is almost 3x.

I have a set of Hooker Comps, fits very well, not rusty, but not looking pristine. The badging is still there solid...Honestly if I took them off and gave them a dip and cleaning, they would look great.

Standard Hedman's are very good too and less than $300.

Short of some cheap imports of questionable fit and quality, stainless and less than $400 is not going to happen.

Ok yeah i looked at them. They have to be stripped and painted when you get them. I guess spending the extra is worth it to not have to get involved in that.

Do you have a pic of them in the car? How many years have they been on there?

They are not coated, they have been on for at least.....5~6 years ? But they are in great shape though. I need to go out and get a pic. The pics I had underneath and other ones are gone sadly.
