Ouch, that must be tough! I guess it's time ( and probably cheaper ) to start using your generator? I hope we don't have that instore for NJ.

hehehe....

We haven't been hit that much with rolling blackouts in our ROB....

Usually, blackouts from defective 12KV fuses and exploding birds last longer because they're local and lower priority....

Longest outage so far has been around 3 hrs...compared to 12-18 hours for bird or storm damage...

Diesel generator uses about a gallon per hour at full output....so I can usually last 2 days on the drum of fuel I have in stock.....

It is somewhat strange to have the only outside lights on at night here during blackouts though....I have mine setup to run the whole house and shop with my own grid, if you will...
Once tried to run the whole block but the generator fuses weren't having any of that...hehehe...now I have an interlock so I can only cook the PG&E guys when I choose to...*G*

Edited to add....missed the 46% thingie....yeah, price per KWh is getting close to what it costs me to make it with the genset.....I guess a price increase for PG&E is in the works, yes? *G*

Don't forget that when you try to power the whole block, you're also energizing the 12kw primary too! Remeber xformers work both ways.

Just enrolled for continuing ed classes to re-new my NJ electric lic. Have to go for 2 weekends, Sat & Sun. It's soooo boring and kills the weekends. Last time I did it, there was a guy who flew in from CA to re-new his NJ lic.! Wow*

46% is the price increase for electricity. Once again, our politicians are passing the buck, while we get f&$*ed /forums/images/icons/frown.gif Maybe the PU commissioner is going to come around to all of our homes and kiss us, because we certainly are getting screwed. Since the power rates are going up, how are they 'voiding' the price freeze for 5 years?

Oh well, just have to turn off all the lights and go for a drive in the Mustang!

Oh, yeah Tom...I know...*G*

There isn't a procedure invented that can't be circumvented when stupidity overwhelms intelligence....hehehe
Now I have an interlock....so I'll only electrocute myself....

Now, why would someone from CA need a NJ electrical contractors license? hmmmm...maybe a free-lancer for a national firm....too bad they just don't have 50 state license...

Good luck with your studies...

85 a month for that mansion?? Wow!

I spend 20 a month just for the pool pump...

Oh, yeah....you haven't got the shop installed yet...*G*

Keep as much stuff 3 phase as possible....it's much more efficient...you have standby charges on your 3 ph in FL?
