Yeah, I was just half-asleep this morning when answering your first post on this subject...
I heard something about that on the news....
Usually, between the shop and house, electricity runs about 120-140.00 per month...so I guess we'll budget another 60.00 or so...that's about an hour of labor....and I know just whose job it'll be charged to...*G*
We've been coverting over to propane over the last year....now, we heat the house, cook, dry clothes and BBQ with propane....still have an electric oven though...
Now I can run the house completely with the generator....in summer (this summer looks to be a zinger), we can use the evaporative cooler when running the generator (the AC draws too much juice)...
For most households, a 10KW genset is plenty....I can even do limited shop work while running the house...If things get real bad, I'll have to re-install my phase converter to run my 3 phase machines on the generator...
We can't control the idiots who've created this mess, all we can do is do what's best for ourselves and our families....my friends in Ukraine are getting a good laugh at this...I keep them updated and we compare outage notes (they're an everyday occurance there, along with the water getting shut off)...
Suddenly, California has joined the third world...*G*
