I will lube it up, no start up anytime soon, just prepping based on recent posts on serpentine belts, etc. I need to start planning which way I’m going since I have no radiator, distributor, exhaust, carb, intake, etc. was thinking about a big red distributor but don’t think it will pair well with the black block and gold valve covers. It takes a pair of bowling balls to go that bold.

Another day of wiring. Did the courtesy lights, grounded several wires and then my wiper switch fell apart. Guess I’m headed back to NOD for a return and to pick up some more stuff I need like engine wiring keepers and some cable sleeve. Took way more time figuring out the courtesy lights than I thought it would. I may have sectioned something wrong, I ended up splicing in a new section. Guess a few steps backwards is to be expected.

With wiring, you’re lucky if it’s only a few steps backwards. Try wiring a race car where you have to create your own schematic using half a dozen different manufacturers’ products. Then creating it again…and again.

Keep digging…you’ll get there.

Overall I can’t complain. After I get back from NPD tomorrow I’ll try to finish my grounds and then plug my instruments in and install the panel.

So I’ve been battling a kidney stone for weeks, lost about 8 pounds, haven’t done much but sit, lie or pace for weeks. Finally got it blasted and waiting on the bastard to get out of me. Decided to ease out to the garage, heat up my workroom and Mustang bay and do something. Decided for some asinine reason to do front splash shields. After watching videos of people stapling them and struggling only to end up with some results that frankly looked like ass, I decided I was riveting mine. This may be wrong, taboo or stupid but it’s what I did and it turned out well..

After what I saw online I feel pretty good about mine. Another thing checked off the list is the main thing.

That's about the only thing I didn't take a picture of on my car. I took a little piece of sheet metal and drilled 2 small holes with the same spacing as a staple. I fastened the rubber to the metal parts with masking tape and drilled 1 set of holes at a time. It worked flawlessly. Like you said, main thing is another item scratched off the list.

You should have shot a video and put it on YouTube. The ones I saw were awful. Wonder why in the world they used staples for this?

Said it could be weeks, trust me I’m hydrating like a maniac. When the body guys did my car they replaced my fenders with some 65 fenders they found in good shape. Undoubtedly they didn’t replace these when they did the rears. They’re done, that’s all I care about.

I thought about that, but figured with no more action than these will likely get, I’d be ok. Washers would be better for sure.

That’s why you shouldn’t do political posts, you’d be sorely mistaken.
