When I ripped out the carpet in my 67 I found this large hole in the passenger seat riser. From what I can tell the carpet was original. Any idea why someone would have done this? Looks like a hole saw did this.
They probably knocked the socket off the end of their extension on their ratchet when tightening the seat bolts and couldn't get it out from underneath the car. Lack of fishing for dropped tools skills. So out came the hole saw.
I wonder if it was done in conjunction with that unpainted seam sealer.
Speaking of sealer, see the blobs where the worker sat the brush down or had a spill. "Leave it, it gets painted and carpet, no one will ever know." LOL.
