Hey guys. On my carb. It’s a 600 DP. What does the (1965)mean after the carb model stamp.
Is this a dated carb or just a stamping number.

1965 is indeed the date code. It was made on the 196th day of the year. It was made in a year ending in 5. Hard to say it it was 65, 75, 85, etc.

jmlay beat me to it. ?

I am unable to say when Holley began manufacturing the 600dp. This carb was not installed by Ford on your 1965 Mustang. If it were a Ford production it would have a Ford part number.

It was sometime in the 70s they went to a 4 digit date code so I'm thinking '85, possibly '75 or even '95, don't recall the exact switch year.
Holleys for Ford factory use will indeed have the regular C5XX etc type code above the list #

Cool coincidence though, maybe the PO saw it and just had to have it.
