Anybody know of a Holley specialist in the Chicago area?
My Pony Carb Holley is a piece of *(^&* and need somebody that can look at it to see if it's worth working on.

Thanks

I too was looking for a Holley specialist a few weeks ago but after doing some research and figuring a good wrench is going to cost $80 per hour I decided to buy a new Speed Demon. They are a few bucks more than a Holley but come with a tuning tape and a pretty decent tech help line. I am thrilled with the demon, the tuning overall is pretty easy and my car is running faster than ever. There is a guy on Ehay selling new and remanufactured demons at a very decent price.

Is it the original carb? If so, I highly recommend Pony Carburetors. Yeah, they're out in New York but within about 7-10 days your carb wil be rebuilt and tested.
They might also do non-OEM rebuilds too.
And, if you want it replated, they can do that too.
My Shelby never ran better since I got mine done 2 years ago.
Do a web search for the web address, their web page has prices on it.

This IS a rebuild by Pony Carb. From the results of my carb rebuild, I couldn't recommend them. The carb does not work right at all...won't idle below 1000, accel pump not pumping a strong stream, primary and secondary butterflys sticking and the engine won't rev beyond 3K. I put on a borrowed Edlebrock and the engine works great.

Lets see, butterflys are sticking. Could it be the wrong baseplate gasket? They ain't gonna let a carb out of there without it being right.

If you are interested I have a Holley 650 sitting in my garage with probably less than 500 miles on it. I would be happy to let you bolt it on and if it works, great, give me a few bucks and save me the trouble of listing it on my favorite site.

My Pony Carb rebuild was also a piece of crap. Had dead spots and stalled out going around corners. They tried to tell me my timing was off. Yeah, my timing for spending the $$ for a rebuilt! Bit the bullet and bought an Edelbrock, bolted it on and drove away! It's that simple!
