Bid for the chance to own a 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 289 4-Speed at auction with Bring a Trailer, the home of the best vintage and classic cars online. Lot #26,900.
Hi Quick Silver 66. I had a look at this on line yesterday. It's an on line auction is it not. No issue sourcing from auction if I could get an independent (paid for) assessment. Being over the pond in the land of Blighty (misery) it's a chunk of change to fork out without someone with a reasonable clue going to check it out. Any way would you know if you have trusted independent assessor who can give an honest brief?
@AussieteUK Yes, it is an auction. You could see if any forum members are close by and could take a look. There are a number of pre-purchase inspection firms out there, this is one I considered but never needed Pre-Purchase Inspections for Classic Vehicles | Road Ready Inspections You only have five days to the end of the auction though.
The thing about BaT is that collectively the community weighs in on the pros and more often the cons of the car. Obvious this assessment is based entirely on the pictures, but in general I think the folks do a pretty good job. I’ve known folks who have purchased there and they’ve been happy. Good luck!
Glad to help. If for nothing else, reading the comments on the auction will help you learn what to look for when evaluating these cars. Post pictures of cars you’re considering here, the people here are fantastic, knowledgeable and always willing to help out a fellow Mustang lover. Good luck!

Talk to Tim or Mike at mainlymusclecars. They sell plenty of cars that are shipped overseas. Always lots of Mustangs in stock .
I’ve dealt with them for over over 20 years . The shop is a mile from my house . Tell them Mike from O’Reilly gave you their info . No , I don’t get a kickback .

I have a 65 fastback that I might be willing to sell. It depends on your price range. I the only reason I'm contemplating selling this car is because a car I once owned and have been chasing is up for sale.
I'm attempting to buy my old car that I owned 20 years that has recently come up for sale so I am trying to sell this one. Its a 65 mustang fastback that is in dark blue metallic with a light blue/white interior . It has a 4spd toploader and i just had the 289 (had a 302 previously) rebuilt...
