I AM ABOUT TO SELL MY CAR TO A BUYER ABOUT 1,000 MILES AWAY. WE HAVE AGREED ON PRICE, AND HE WANTS TO BUY IT. WHAT IS THE BEST WAY FOR THE MONEY TO TRANSFER? AND, WHEN DOES THE TITLE GET SENT? ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

I would say, Money order or cashiers check. And send the title ONLY after you have it in the bank. my 2 cents

I have done it that way, After you recieve Full payment send the title, and Then the car.

make sure you have all the money and then make sure you send him the title and car (they guy i dealt with i gave him money for the car, then he gave me the car then came back a week later trying to say i only paid the downpayment and it was none refundable and so he tried to take back the car, but lucky for me i was only 16 so i used that trying to take advantage of a minor situation and it worked)

The best way is like the others said about getting the money in advance and then sending the title. Also, what I've done is to draft up a bill-of-sale. Send it to the buyer, have them sign it and get it notarized. Then you sign it and have it notarized. You can pretty much put anything you want into the bill-of-sale. This protects the seller as well as the buyer.

Hope this helps
