When I first started posting here, eons a go, I was the only person from Fresno, CA. with Pat (Camachinest) being the closest one to me living in Kerman. I have been noticing more and more folks posting that live in my neck of the woods now! /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

I was thinking we could all get together and maybe do lunch and talk shop and check out each other's rides or even meet up over at Bob's Bigboy on a Friday evening for the get together of classic cars they have through the summer. Let me know what you think by either emailing me directly or posting your thoughts here. I think it would be a blast to meet some more enthusiast that lives in my own back yard!

BTW, Any of you in the local Mustang Club?

Doug,
Guess there are a lot of lurkers here, some of whom live in our area...

To be honest, the last time I met anyone at Bob's Big Boy was when it was on Belmont and Blackstone (back when Belmont was the cruise)....where the heck is it now? We used to meet at the A&W on Blackstone or at Fat Jack's in Clovis after they shut Belmont down...

Let me know when and where and we'll shine up the D-coder and put in an appearance.

When I looked into the CVMC, it was too family for me....I was a pretty hard core racer then...dinners and car shows didn't interest me...maybe things have changed *G*

I live south about 30+ miles in Lemoore, would be interested in slaming a Cheese Burger together sometime.

Hey, Camachinist do ya know Rueben Gonzalez (Kermanite)? He's my Bro-in-law.

Yea, I've kind of figured the local lurkers /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif were out there, but I've been noticing more and more posters from Fresno/Clovis area!

Bob's on Belmont, boy that brings back memories! It's now a Asian food place, or at least it was a couple of years a go. During the summer months, everyone now meets over at Bob's on Blackstone at the Autocenter Drive. I've yet been able to make one this summer, but I'm hoping to get out there maybe next Friday. You usually have to show up early to get a good parking space. I drove by last Friday around 5:30pm and cars were already staking out their space.

Yea I still haven't joined the local club yet. I got to meet a few of the members while we were at Knotts this year, and it does seem pretty family oriented. One person I talked to says they do a lot of stuff like minature golf & bowling on the weekends, but I feel I can do that kind of stuff with out having to join a club! Maybe I will go set in on one of their meetings one of these days, and check it out first hand.

Haven't had the pleasure but I'll bet the salon owner my wife works for part-time in Kerman knows him...Fred knows everyone..*G*

We don't actually live in Kerman...it's just the closest town with a Post Office...*G*

I think I remember some of your posts on the old VMF...I recall someone from Lemoore posting there...my wife's best friend is a nurse in Hanford and her husband is a corpsman based out of Lemoore NAS, currently training recruits in Texas...
Love the airshows at the NAS...best free entertainment extant..*G*

Yea, that's me. I've been around for awhile just don't post very often unless I got a question or think I can provide some best educated guesses. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Do what Shaun did up here in the SF Bay Area...organize a cruise for all interested VMFers. We got 22 to show up for the first NorCal South Bay Cruise last month and it was a blast. At the end of the day we even had "The Fastest Eight" chasing a Shelby Series 1 down Highway 1 between Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz.

There's not much here as there is in the Bay area to cruise, although... We do have Bass Lake (where the John Candy film, "The Great Outdoors" was shot). We could probably get a few folks together for a cruise up to the lake! Hmmmm!

That might be an idea!
