Car is back on the road now with a 5.0 roller block. The engine is stock, carbeurated with a 600 cfm Edelbrock carb and dual plane intake. Has stock C-4 auto and headers. What is the est. rear wheel HP? About 210? It pulls a lot stronger than the old 289 I had before. Thanks as always.

I would guess between 160 and 180 at then rear wheels..

My wifes 5.0, AOD, 2.73 had about 200 rear wheel . i would expect that you would have the same. The car was stock and ran a best 14.93 @ 93 MPH.

Given the entirety of your drivetrain, I'll concur with Bill's guesstimate....

Our old drivetrains aren't quite as efficient as the modern stuff, which has an effect on RWHP.

Your seat-of-the-pants feeling likely is coming from the combination of the efficient roller cam in the 5.0L, combined with the increased low-rpm torque of the longer crank throw and increase in CID...it does make a difference...
