Depends first on what it is.

Fastback, coupe, convertible?

Year?

Engine and trans?

Hit in front or back?

Codition before the accident and any accessories?

In general engine and trans don't bring 50% of their cost of building and a complete car (REAL GENERAL COMMENT) sells for less that it would be worth if you part it out. Takes longer and you have alot of on wanted parts.

In general a 65-66 coupe hit from the rear with a C code V8, automatic, PS, worn interior (or even decent) car runs, can be purchased for $500. Not saying that is what its worth only what they tend to go for.In most cases there are alot of little facts that go into things like this

If you were local and I came and hauled it away on my own equipment and if it was a V8 unremarkable coupe, wrecked but not stripped, I'd give you 500.00...cash...

If you parted it out, you could likely get around 1K or so after expenses...
