I'm hoping to be repainting the engine bay in my fastback in a couple of weeks. I'm wondering what the best technique would be--paint the inner side fenders in one pass or do you paint the tower and then the sections on either side?

Also, which gun would give me the best results, the regular or the detail gun? I'm painting it in single stage, same color as the exterior.

Larger gun will decrease any flat/dry spots. The engine bay is a large area to cover with all the nooks and crannies.

I've found the easiest way to paint the engine bay is start from the bottom and work upward and from the trans tunnel forward.

Thanks Charles, that's what I was thinking might be the best. It has to be easier than painting the underside the way I did it!
