Well, I finally fixed my wiper motor. What a pain with the a/c in the way.

Now I'm on to replacing the motor in my a/c unit. Does anyone know if I can split the evaporator case while it's in the car to get the motor out? I think I have all the screws and bolts out of it, but it won't split apart.

My a/c still has a good charge of r12 and I don't want to disconnect the hoses if at all possible. I have the heater box out so I can slide the a/c to the passenger side to access the rear.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I found a couple more screws and split the case about an inch. There was some insulation stuff off the hoses that was stuck down on top of the motor and was binding it up. I got that out of the way and the blower motor started right up. I got lucky, because it looked like I couldn't split the cases enough to pull the motor out while all under the dash.
