'66 200 engine - ( Engine is in the engine compartment and attached to transmission)

Do I simply put a jack with some wood under the oil plan or do I need to support the oil pain near the edge where the bolts are to prevent the engine from leaning when I remove the mount? Thnx.

Wood block on a jack to the oil pan bottom is just fine. I’ve done it plenty of times. Just don’t go crazy with the jack height.

And use more than a 2x4 to spread the load. A 2x6 or even a 2x8.

Loosen your transmission mount bolts if you are going to lift the engine up some. Also, don't forget to re-tighten them later like I did, LOL.

Happened to have my balancer off and wanted to pull the oil pan with my motor mounts already off.
