Look in Hemmings. I can't remember the name, but there are 2 companies leading the industry in replica AC Cobras, and they both have big ads in Hemmings. Okay, Check out
www.factoryfive.com I've never done one, they look very simple, you use guts from a 5.0 Mustang

i've looked in to kit cars several times. Each time i've scared myself away. Kit cars come in many variaties and stages of completion so there is no single answer. It is like saying how hard is it to restore a mustang. The answer to that of course is the more you pay up front the less work you have to do. You can go anywhere from a partial kit that requires fabrication to complete to a fully assembled minus engine and trani. This is only a ballpark guess but figure at least $20,000 by the time your completed and from there you can keep going up by what extras you want after all you can spend $20,000 just on a drivetrain when price is no object.
