Hi,

I found another Mustang. I was wondering if anyone would be able to go with me to look at it tonight. I know it's short notice, but ya gotta jump on these things before they are gone. It's a '67 fastback with a 351C. The guy that is selling it doesn't know much about the car other than it's pissing him off. It's his sons car and when his son went to college, it just sat. It's been sitting for the last 4 years. Let me know if anyone can go with me. Thanks.

It's off Cicero Ave., but I don't remember the name of the street that crosses Cicero. If I remember correctly, it's about 4000 N Cicero. I am supposed to call him this evening for directions.

Be aware that right now the costs of classic vehicles are entering their peak season. Prices tend to drop late fall/winter. I know it doesn't help with the "itch" , but if you have time leverage it. Also consider out of state. Prices are less and condition is better. I went to Tx for mine.

I have been looking out of state. Actually, most of what I have found has been out of state. I know that in Chicago, the rust will probably be pretty bad, but when I talked to this guy, he said that a lot of the sheetmetal had already been replaced.

Well, I'm glad I didn't waste anyone's time. I went to look at the car and it was in pieces scattered all over two garages. The engine had been sitting on the floor of the garage unprotected for about 4 years. It had a "brand new" carb that was all corroded. It was a T code that they had bought a 351 for. The body wasn't too bad, but a teenager had already been working on it. It was pretty sad. I guess I will keep looking.

Have you tried motors? It gives you a good idea of the going prices and conditions. Like I mentioned, most prob don't sell so you can continue correspondence with the owner after and see if the price gets better or get more pics etc.

you really can't type " " here? and that word in quotes (in case it shows up) is e+b+a+y.. sorry, just had to check! I guess not - I had to see it for myself.

WHY in the world will this site not allow you to type ??? That is utterly ridiculous!!

Howdy.

The VMF just recently started the removal of eebbaayy from posts mostly for
one reason. Too many people were using the VMF to advertise their auctions
in the VMF classifieds.

The classifieds were meant for individuals to sell parts - not to put up ads for
their auctions on another site.

This was mostly to prevent people from using the word in a link to their auction.

But I guess it wasn't possible to do that without banning it all together. Im not sure.

So for now, I guess, we will just have to misspell it if we want to talk about it.
