Hi all,

Some of you know a few months ago I moved from NY to Atlanta and sold my '68 GT Fastback to get a newer '00 Gt 'Vert. The new 'Vert is an awesome car but I miss the classics. I've also realized I can pretty much drive a classic everyday down here in the south!
My g/f wants a new Stang so I'm thinking of selling her my '00 GT and getting another classic, taking some money left over and paying off some debt. My g/f will also still have her '93 Honda so if I need another car for a day or 2 I'll have one available.

Here are some of the cars I'm looking into:

'68 GT J code pres. blue 'Vert...4spd, really nice shape, only thing that seems to be "wrong" on the car is the owner change out the parchment deluze interior to darker brown/saddle color...motor has 86K on it, rebuilt at 73K. Asking $15,500, would hope I could get it at least for $14K.

'67 highland green hardtop, black vinyl top, orig. 289 car now has 302, was deluxe interior car, sellers son took it out and put standard interior back in, still has floor console, has cold factory AC, added GT SS wheels and dual exhaust with correct Gt rear panel, automatic, asking $8K, would hope to be able to get for 6500-7K since some things are not right.

'68 GT 390 hardtop, auto, red with black deluxe woodgrain interior, motor has 65K on it, rebuilt at 55K, very nice shape, asking $12K I think.

Obviously the '67 coupe would leave me the most $$ left over in the end but it is prob. the least optioned of the 3. Also, if anyone else knows of any other classic '67/68's for sale b/t 7 and 14K, please let me know.

Thanks for any imput,
Mike

Have you seen any fastbacks? I like them much more than verts or coupes

You have a point /forums/images/icons/smile.gif Considering I've owned 2 390GT cars and a Boss 302!!
However, my '00 GT Vert has 4.10's and dyno'd at 230hp and 268tq. It gets up and goes /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I also just found out the asking price of the 390Gt coupe has been dropped to 10K and the seller is flexible on price!!

Nice Fastbacks in my price range are getting harder and harder to find.

ScottsGT,

I think the 'Vert would be great...however, if I am looking at it from a cost perspective and have the most money left over, the 'Vert might not be the way to go.
I also look at it if my g/f is buying my '00 Gt 'Vert, I'll still be able to drive topless at will /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Mike the vert sounds good but so does the G/T coupe I personally like the verts after owning one.

Welcome back Mike!
I hope the South is treating you well.
I would have to go with the Vert also. Besides, the '00 is going to a Girlfriend, not a SWMBO ( yet, anyway) so I wouldn't count on being able to drive it anytime you want to.
Not that I'm not a little partial to Vert's or anything ....*G*

Thanks everyone for their imput. It is nice to hear/see some "old faces" I have not chatted with in a few months.
My 1st classic was a '68 Gt 390 cpe...great car.
I really like the idea of the '68 GT 4spd 'Vert but I can prob. get the '68 GT390 coupe for about 5-6K less then the 'Vert, so looking at it from that point it is more tempting.
I also think if I get a classic w/o AC I'll prob. have to add it being down here in Atlanta.

I'll keep everyone posted,
Mike

Paul,

I'm trying to find out for sure if the BB GT has all the options currently on the car.
Red is not my all time fav. color but the overall package has me excited.
