Around $1.80 per gallon for 89 octane here in the Detroit area. I heard on the radio that Exxon's world wide profits last year were $12 BILLION! Now I hear that gas prices will probably hit $3.00 a gallon this summer because of low production and fewer supplies. Seems like an artificial shortage to boost prices. Geeze.

sure it's fun (most of the time), but it's only a car.

Around the Palm Springs area we're out of the loop compared to nearby Riverside or Los Angeles. We pay about 8-9 cents a gallon more. Right now that's about $1.73 for 87 octane to $1.93 for 92. Now and then I go to Pump 12 at a station here for five or six gallons of 110 octane racing fuel at $3.99 a gallon. She loves it when I do that. *G*

Looks like I get to come in on the low end of the scale. $1.35 for 87 (although I think it's a few cents cheaper up the road. However, If I drive less than a mile across the line into Chattanooga, It's $1.49

You Americans have nothing to complain about. We pay about $ 4.07 for every gallon of 95 octane (RON) unleaded in Holland. Prices have gone up here too, by $ 0.24 a gallon in two weeks.

A gallon of diesel costs $ 2.76, that's why more and more passenger cars are sold with modern ultra fuel efficient diesel engines.

Then there is LPG (basically a mixture of propane and butane) at $ 1.47 a gallon which hasn't gone up in price, and that's what I use...hehehe.

In Fresno i've been paying $1.57 for 87 octane until two days ago, when it jumped to $1.63 for 87 octane. premium 92 octane is up to $2.09 here in Central California. Unfortunately I go through 100 gallons a week between my work van and my daily driver. I think I'm going to be applying for a small business loan by the end of the summer, just to pay for the gas on my Work van.

As I recall, the state government of Illinois is the culprit, not the oil companies. Illinois and several other states with exceptionally high prices mandate specific formulation of gas with the result that the supplies used in neighboring states can't be sold in the high-price states. Smaller customer base w/ custom requirement always equals higher prices.

Last week I filled up with standard unleaded at about $1.35 per gal - I think the next step up is about a dime more....and I don't mess around with premium for my daily driver.
Those prices are for New Orleans. Dickson
