Ok, I need to make room on the Shelf for a "Look" like a Doofus award. I have my 64 1/2 Convertible for sale on E-bay. Someone stopped by who was local after work to take a look. I got the kys and said lets hop in and go for a ride. He turns the key and all we get is a click. Tried to give it a quick jump start from my other car hoping it was just a weak battery from sitting for a few weeks. Nope! Anyway, after he went home with out a test drive, I quickly trouble shooted the problem and then went and bought a new starter. 30 minutes the car was up on a jack, the starter was in and it fired right up. What a way to look like a doofus when trying to sell a car with a new Jasper 289 and the Starter dies on you at the exact time of inspection. Oh well, thats the life of a Mustanger!

Mustang Parts makes a great addiction.

speaking of doofus actions, anybody ever tighten that water temp sensor too tight in an edelbrock manifold and crack it. hehe. water kinda shoots out everywhere. expensive mistake. i had to learn not to "overtighten" the hard way. but back to ur vert. did u call the guy up and tell him to come back?

I had the same thing happen to our '68, but I swapped out the
starter and it still didn't work? Turns out that the cable
to the starter decided to burn up. Put a new one in and
WWhoom, fired right up. Go figure!

Many years ago I tried to sell my 340 Duster to a dealer. I started it right up. But the starter would not disengage. Moments later the car was on fire!

The dealer calmly got a fire extinguisher and put it out. I had to tow it home.
