For those of you that tape your track events from inside/on the car, what type of mounting system do you use? I would imagine to be allowed on the track it would have to be pretty good to prevent excess crap from flying around if there was a collision. Any pics?

I recently made my own low buck mount using a bogen tripod head, a pair of muffler clamps and some scrap metal. I've only run it at the drag strip so far but it performed well. As far as keeping things in place I've safety wired the knobs and run a couple of 1" straps over the camera as well (not shown in picture). I'm looking forward to taking it to the road course very soon...

I am a cheap a$$. I simply used my rear seat belts to strap in a tripod into the rear seat. It actually worked out real well. My digital camera worked OK and now I'll have to use my son's DV camera (it's much smaller than my dino-Sony hi-8 camcorder).
