Inaugural VMF Corn Feast In Iowa

Bob and I are scheming on getting various VMF'ers together in Des Moines, Iowa, home of Vintage-Mustang Forums on Aug. 4 or 5. The State Fair would follow shortly thereafter. I'm willing to travel long distance with Midlife to show my appreciation to Bob for the forum and all, and to contribute towards holding a BBQ/get together/cruise/have a good time. This started out as my longing for good fresh sweet yellow corn, which I haven't been able to get ahold of now for nearly 17 years. Iowa is the home of great corn, beef, pork, and the butt of bad jokes.

Who else would be interested in attending? If we get enough folks, then it would definitely be on...so no maybe's need reply...we would like a more definitive response. What do you say?

Aug. 4 and 5th. I may just have to schedule a visit to the folk's house in southeast Iowa about that same time.
Won't bring Maxine, but will wear the T-shirt. :)

So Randy, you're thinking of driving from FLA to IA? Sounds like fodder for a great adventure! Are you confident Midlife is up to it? Remember - the Heartland is hot in August. Frankenstang should be on the road by then. Wanna swing by Denver and caravan into DesMoines?

Power Tour -? We don't need no stinking Power Tour - We got the "Corn Fed Tour"!

Hey, I'll have to get back to you on that. That drive 40 minutes down I35 might be a little rough on me.

:)

I might, MIGHT have my stang done then. Then again, I was hopin' to have it done by the first of May too.

I'd live to make it, but it's the same week I am on vacation and I am going up to the Mountains with the wife and kids. It's going to even be hard that week to play with the mustang...Maybe I need to take 2 weeks. I sure would like to shake Bob's hand someday and personally thank him for this forum. Not to mention every one else I feel like I know...

Heh he....Time for a little remedial geography for me. Looked at my road atlas last night. CO would only put you out of your way about 5-600 miles. Not a great idea for a bunch of 35-year-old cars.

Still, by July I should have an idea of just how reliable my 66 is. If things work out, I could join you guys in KS or MO.

Sounds like a fun trip in any case!

Sounds fun! I'm near Peoria, IL I think I could make it, but I won't be able to drive the 67 coupe. But I'm sure the Escort will make it.

I'd love to come, but I'm planning on taking Murphy to the Grand National in Kansas City the following month. I just can't take the time and I do love sweet corn! Bummer....

I love it when a plan comes together!
