I am looking to replace the existing drivers side engine apron on my 65 (where the VIN # is stamped)... it is in pretty bad shape.

I plan on sending the new apron to K. Marti and having him stamp the vin# back onto the new one.

Here is my question... has anyone else ever done this? Does the stamping look like the original? I want to replace the apron (but do not want to lose the vin# (for obvious reasons)

Should I just purchase a repo apron (if so, from which company) or are they of poor quality.
Can I get an original NOS apron still? If so, where?

I am looking for some advice and options....

Thanks for the help... (since finding this forum, I have gotten lots of great advice regarding issues that I have been pondering for months)

Would like you to post the outcome of this. I was not aware that Marti could stamp the panels.
